Neighborhood Theft

From Christina--

Unfortunately I have new, not-so-good news. Sometime
Thursday night or perhaps Friday during the day, two
iron porch chairs were stolen from my front porch at
808 Brooklyn Street. I filed a police report and in
addition, filed my third request for increased police
presence in the neighborhood.

I previously filed two citizen action requests on the
advice of the officer that spoke at the HGBA meeting
and have not seen any action as of yet. I am trying to
cut down on the speeding through Gaston and Brooklyn
and additionally control the noise, loitering and
littering from the Broughton H.S. kids that park in
the private lot across the street. Specifically, I
have asked both the police and York (who manages the
lot) to be present from 7:30-8:00 am and 2:30-3:30 pm.
There has been no action so far.

For those of you that are interested, I suggest that
you call the police as well and file a Citizen Action
Request for increased patrol of this neighborhood. The
more people that call, the greater our chances of
seeing some action. And you might want to chain up
your porch furniture.
